Why Ticheka exists

Planning an RV weekend often means switching between campground listings, park notices, maps, vehicle specifications and cost estimates. Ticheka turns that scattered information into practical decisions without hiding the original source.

What we publish

Our scope includes campground comparison tools, trip-cost calculators, official park alerts, weekend itineraries and decision guides for RV systems. We focus on details that change a real plan: rig fit, hookups, reservation windows, seasonal access, drive time, costs and source freshness.

How we work

Official and first-party sources come first. Automation may help us collect, organize or flag information, but a human reviewer is responsible for publication. We label estimates, distinguish editorial judgment from facts and keep material source links visible.

Where our numbers come from

Campground lengths, hookup levels, opening dates, fees and reservation windows are taken from the managing agency first: the National Park Service page for that specific campground, the concessioner’s reservation site, or the federal booking platform that actually holds the inventory. Where a figure comes from a manufacturer rather than an agency — tank capacities, tow ratings, panel output — we say so, because those numbers describe an ideal unit rather than the one on your driveway.

When two official sources disagree, we publish the more conservative figure and name both. A campground that lists 40 feet in one place and 35 feet in another is a campground you should plan around 35 feet for.

How a guide gets published

Every guide follows the same route. We start from a decision a traveler actually has to make, gather the official records that bear on it, build the comparison or calculation, then write the guidance around what the records support. A second person checks the source links, the internal consistency of the numbers and the disclosures before anything goes live. Dates of publication and last review are shown on the page so you can judge how fresh the information is without guessing.

Automation helps us collect and organize source material. It does not decide what gets published. A named human is accountable for every page.

What we deliberately do not do

We do not publish live availability, and we do not tell you a site is bookable on a given date. Inventory moves faster than any article, so we teach the booking window instead and send you to the official system to check. We do not give mechanical, electrical or legal advice where a mistake carries real risk; on those pages we mark the point where a qualified technician should take over. We do not rank campgrounds by sponsorship, and we do not accept payment to change a verdict.

We also avoid presenting a photograph as proof of conditions. A picture of one pad at one campground shows that pad on that day. Where a photo is illustrative rather than evidential, the caption says so.

How the site is funded

Ticheka Outdoors is supported by advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links. Advertising is served by third parties and is not chosen by our editorial team. Affiliate links, where they appear, are disclosed on the page and never determine which campground, park or product we recommend. If a commercial relationship ever conflicted with the guidance, the guidance would stay and the relationship would go.

Tell us when we are wrong

Official pages change without notice, and we would rather hear about a stale figure from a reader than leave it up. If a fee, a length limit, an opening date or a booking window on this site no longer matches the agency record, send us the page and the source and we will correct it and note the change. Our corrections process is described in the Corrections Policy, and the contact form reaches a person, not a queue.
